Sophia DePaulis E-Portfolio

Hello! My name is Sophia DePaulis and I am an undergraduate student at Pennsylvania State University. I am a marketing major in the Smeal College of Business with a minor in Chinese. I have created this E-portfolio to showcase some of the work I have created over this past year and to reflect on my academic growth throughout my last two semesters here at Penn State.

Over the past two semesters, I thoroughly enjoyed creating the pieces I have included in my portfolio. I feel that working on these pieces has helped me to greatly improve my communication abilities and I am very grateful for all of the skills I have gained from taking these two courses. I have gained the confidence to give a speech in front of a large group of people (which is something that once made me extremely nervous), the skill to create podcasts and videos for any purpose, and a deep understanding of rhetoric and how it effects how people communicate. As a marketing major, the knowledge and set of skills I have gained from CAS 137H/CAS 138T are very important for my future plans, and I feel that I now have a strong basis for many important skills that I plan to develop and utilize in the future.

I feel that each piece I have selected represents some of my best work from these past two semesters and highlights my understanding of rhetoric that I have gained over the past year. When creating each piece, I paid strict attention to my use of rhetoric and designed my pieces accordingly. Included are my paradigm shift and persuasive essays, my “this I believe” podcast, advocacy project, and a few of my best blog posts. I hope you enjoy my work!
